Our sessions (led by experienced mental health practitioners) are carefully structured to encourage engagement, empathy, and understanding among you and the other group members, but also tailored to have some fun! Our program is designed to accommodate the diverse needs of our members, ensuring that you feel valued, heard, and connected. We cover a wide range of topics, including but not limited to:

Enhancing verbal and non-verbal communication skills to express thoughts, feelings, and needs more clearly and confidently to make yourself better heard.

Social Bloom groups meet weekly for 13 weeks, each session lasting 75 minutes and including a combination of interactive games, group discussions, and community-based activities.
Ultimately, you will finish the program with new friendships that can last a lifetime and the self-confidence to continue building new relationships.

Will I be with people my age?
We plan to create groups by age range, trying to put people of similar ages together. We will do our best to accommodate this.
Do I have to participate for the full 13 weeks?
Yes, to participate in a Social Bloom group, you must commit to the full 13 weeks (3 months). We made it a requirement because being consistently with the same group of people gives you the best chance to connect with others and make friends.
Who can benefit from Social Bloom?
Social Bloom is ideal for anyone who struggles with social anxiety, shyness, or difficulty making and maintaining friendships. It’s also beneficial for those looking to improve their social skills and build a stronger social network.
What are the requirements to join a Social Bloom group?
The only requirements are a) That you are at least 16 years of age b) You have a genuine willingness and open-mindedness to meet new people.
What types of activities will Social Bloom groups be doing?
There will be a wide range of both indoor and outdoor activities, some more active than others. The groups will also have input on the types of activities they do together. The goal is for the groups to be doing activities where they can not only connect with each other but also have fun.
