Cedar Plank Grilled Tofu
Ingredients
- 1 Package Extra Firm Tofu wrapped in paper towels for 10 minutes to drain excess moisture
- 2 tbsp Joe's Stuff Spice*
- 1 cedar plank Previously soaked in water. Follow directions on cedar plank for preparation.
Instructions
- Preheat barbecue to high heat. Slice the tofu into 1/4 inch thick slices, and then cut each one in half.
- Using your hands, rub the spice mixture onto both sides of each tofu piece.
- Place the tofu on the prepped cedar plank and then place it on the grill. Cook on medium high heat for approximately 30 minutes, turning halfway through cooking time. Keep grill closed as much as possible while cooking aside from turning. Tofu is done when it starts to look golden. Serve immediately.
- *Joe's Stuff spice is one of my cooking essentials because I use it on meats, fish, vegetables, and more! It comes from the New Orleans Cooking School and can be purchased here: http://www.amazon.com/Stuff-Original-Seasoning-New-Orleans/dp/B00YM9ZL90/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1443202256&sr=8-1&keywords=joe+spice+new+orleans. To make your own spice mixture, you can also combine paprkia, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, and salt, but for some reason, it just never comes out quite as good as Joe's Stuff!
