Authentic Chinese Chicken and Broccoli

Authentic Chinese Chicken and Broccoli
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp coconut oil
- 1 tbsp ginger chopped
- 2 tsp garlic chopped
- 1 lb white meat chicken tenders uncooked, cut in bite size chunks
- 1/2 cup low sodium tamari *or soy sauce if not Gluten Free
- 2 tbsp rice wine vinegar
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
- 3 cups broccoli florets blanched*
- 1 tsp Corn Starch dissolved in 2 tbsp water
- 1 tsp sesame seeds
Instructions
- Heat the coconut oil in a skillet on medium heat, and add ginger and garlic. Cook for just 1 minute.
- Add in the chicken and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring regularly, until the chicken is completely cooked through.
- While the chicken is cooking, mix together the tamari, rice wine, and maple syrup in a separate bowl.
- Once the chicken is completely cooked, add in the broccoli and then pour in the tamari mixture. Mix well, and let simmer on low heat for 3 minutes.
- Once the mixture has become hot, spoon in the corn starch and water mixture, and mix around well in the sauce. Continue to simmer for 3-5 more minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve immediately.
