Organization, Nutrition, & Healthy Life Style Mentoring

While research has clearly proven the significant and powerful role that nutrition and lifestyle habits play in mental illness, the mind/body connection doesn't always receive the attention it deserves in a patient's mental health regimen.

Lisa Shanken, AADP, nutrition consultant, personal trainer, and healthy cooking instructor with over 15 years experience, has made it her mission to put the spotlight on this mind/body connection. Based on her success working with individuals, corporations, and emerging as a thought leader in her field, Lisa is recognized as a go-to resource for therapists and psychiatrists when their patients need a specialist in these disciplines.

Through lifestyle strategies and techniques, Lisa incorporates organization, structure, and systems to help those with poor executive functioning and nutritional imbalances. Her diverse approach is 100% customized and tailored to the needs of the individual, which includes mentoring, as well as practical “hands-on” skills that deliver short-term and tangible results, while also building a framework to ensure sustainable lifestyle change for the long-term.

Working collaboratively with the mental health practitioner, patients are ultimately equipped with a more robust set of tools to significantly increase their opportunity for success.

Lisa has worked extensively with all types of individuals, and some of the patients in which she has demonstrated proven success include having diagnoses of eating disorders, borderline personality, bipolar, schizoid affect, schizophrenia, schizoid avoidant, generalized anxiety, panic, depression, addiction, phobias, and insomnia.

To complement her formal education and certifications in nutrition, fitness, and culinary arts, she consistently expands her expertise with continuing education courses including family therapy, anxiety, panic, and DBT.
